Job summary

Blaugarnet Inc. is seeking a Founding Engineer (6–8 years) to be the technical anchor of our India engineering team. You will write the core of the product, make architectural calls, and work directly with a founder with 25 years of AI and product leadership at Google and Adobe.

This is an IC role with founding equity. You will build the AI system end to end, own the architecture, and push production-grade AI services designed for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of software engineering with backend focus.
• AI-native development with coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
• 2–3+ years building AI/GenAI systems in production — RAG, deterministic LLM orchestration, and evaluation-harness design; strong SQL/Postgres.
• Proven zero-to-one ownership and technical leadership as an IC, with a startup temperament.

Responsibilities

• Build the AI system end to end — reasoning engine, context engineering, retrieval pipelines, evaluation frameworks and guardrails.
• Own technical direction — frameworks, patterns, infrastructure, data architecture and deployment posture.
• Move the product from demo to production — scalable, observable AI services for enterprise customers.
• Be reviewer and standard-bearer for architecture, code quality and reliability; engage with customers.

Role Description

We are seeking a Founding Engineer (6–8 years experience) to be the technical anchor of our India engineering team — part builder, part architect. You'll write the core of the product, make the architectural calls the rest of the team builds on, and work directly with our founder, a veteran with 25 years of AI and product leadership at Google and Adobe. This is an individual-contributor role with founding equity: deep technical ownership without people-management responsibilities.

The Role & Responsibilities

• Core system: Build the AI system end to end — the reasoning and deliberation engine, context engineering, retrieval pipelines, and the evaluation frameworks and guardrails that make it reliable in production.
• Architecture: Own technical direction — frameworks, patterns, and infrastructure, including the system-of-record data architecture and enterprise deployment posture; set the engineering practices the future team inherits.
• Production: Take the product from demo-grade to production-grade — scalable, observable, cost-aware AI services that real enterprise customers depend on.
• Technical bar: Be the reviewer and standard-bearer for architecture, code quality, and reliability; stay close to customers and help decide what's worth building.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of software engineering with deep backend expertise in a modern typed/async stack (we use Python/FastAPI today).
• AI-native development as your default mode — you work with coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) daily.
• 2–3+ years building AI/GenAI systems in production — RAG, deterministic LLM orchestration, and evaluation-harness design; strong SQL/Postgres.
• Proven zero-to-one ownership and technical leadership as an IC, with a startup temperament — high agency, bias to ship, direct communication.
