Job summary

Commotion is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers focused on GenAI, prompts, and problem-solving, to deploy AI agents into enterprise workflows. You’ll sit at the crossroads of customers, product, and engineering to design, integrate, and scale AI agents that deliver measurable business outcomes.

You’ll work hands-on with customers to translate problems into technical designs, own deployments end-to-end, and feed real-world learnings back into the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experience working with customers in a technical, solutions-oriented role.
• Comfort collaborating with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Python and APIs for prototyping and integrations.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, conversational systems, or workflow automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous problems.
• A strong ownership mindset — you take things from idea to production.
• Excellent communication skills, especially explaining complex systems simply.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with strategic customers to deeply understand workflows, constraints, and pain points.
• Identify high-leverage AI agent use cases across support, sales, operations, and automation.
• Turn vague business problems into clear, solvable technical and AI system designs.
• Design and deploy end-to-end AI agent systems across voice and chat.
• Craft and iterate on prompts, tools, memory, state, routing, guardrails, and fallbacks.
• Debug AI behavior in production — from hallucinations to latency to edge cases.
• Ensure agents are reliable, safe, observable, and scalable.
• Build integrations with CRMs, ticketing tools, telephony systems, internal APIs, and data sources.
• Design solutions that fit into existing enterprise stacks.
• Support security, compliance, VPCs, and data isolation requirements.
• Guide customers on deploying and scaling AI agents.
• Own deployments end-to-end for strategic customers.
• Prototype quickly, test aggressively, iterate fast, and ship confidently.
• Build compelling demos and live examples; present results to engineers and leadership.
• Act as the voice of the field for product teams.

What You’ll Do

Customer Problem Discovery

Execution & Ownership

• Own deployments end-to-end for strategic customers

• Build compelling demos and live examples that showcase what’s possible
• Present results and recommendations to engineers, product teams, and senior stakeholders

Product Feedback Loop

• Act as the voice of the field for core product teams
• Surface patterns, gaps, and opportunities from real deployments
