Job summary

Coromandel International Limited seeks an experienced Formulations R&D Head to lead formulation development, technology transfer, scale-up, and innovative projects in the agrochemical sector.

Responsibilities include end-to-end lifecycle management, driving seamless tech transfer to manufacturing, and overseeing cost and CAPEX initiatives while ensuring regulatory and IP support and high EHS/quality standards.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Agricultural Chemistry, Soil Science or related.
• 18-20+ years of agrochemical formulation development and commercialization experience.
• Strong knowledge of EC, OD, SC, WP, WG formulations and scale-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end formulation development from lab to commercialization.
• Drive technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
• Oversee scale-up, process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
• Support IP, regulatory documentation and product registrations.
• Ensure EHS, safety, quality governance and ISO compliance.
• Manage multidisciplinary team and vendor qualification.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Formulations R&D Head to lead formulation development, technology transfer, scale-up, and innovation initiatives in the agrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pipeline Management: Lead the end-to-end R&D project lifecycle from laboratory development and physicochemical characterization to pilot-scale validation and commercialization.
• Technology Transfer & Scale-Up: Drive seamless technology transfer from lab to commercial manufacturing, resolving formulation and process-related challenges.
• Cost Optimization & CAPEX: Implement cost-reduction initiatives through raw material optimization, alternate sourcing, waste minimization, and execution of CAPEX projects.
• Intellectual Property & Regulatory Support: Develop patentable technologies and support product registrations through technical dossier generation and regulatory documentation.
• EHS & Quality Governance: Ensure full compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations, PCB norms, and quality management systems.
• Team & Vendor Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and manage vendor qualification for raw materials, packaging materials, and equipment.

Desired Profile:

• Education: Postgraduate degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Agricultural Chemistry, Soil Science, or related disciplines.
• Experience: 18-20+ years of experience in agrochemical/pesticide formulation development and commercialization.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of formulation technologies such as EC, OD, SC, WP, WG, scale-up processes, surfactant chemistry, inert compatibility, regulatory support, product registrations, cost management, and analytical interpretation.
