Job Title: Head of Foreign Exchange (Forex Head - India)

Role Overview

The Forex Head leads the foreign exchange business across all branches in India. You will drive revenue growth, manage regulatory compliance, and oversee daily branch operations. Your goal is to expand market share and ensure profitable foreign exchange services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Growth

• Build and execute the national business plan for the Forex department.
• Set and meet revenue, profit, and volume targets for all branches.
• Identify new market trends and introduce competitive Forex products.
• Build strong relationships with corporate clients, high-net-worth individuals, and partner banks.

Operations & Branch Management

• Oversee Forex operations across all regional branches in India.
• Ensure smooth daily transactions, including cash handling, wire transfers, and currency exchange.
• Optimize branch performance and resource allocation.
• Resolve escalated customer issues quickly and professionally.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Ensure all branches follow guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act).
• Monitor market risks like currency fluctuations and set hedging strategies.
• Implement strict anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) protocols.
• Conduct regular audits to prevent fraud and reduce operational risks.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and train branch managers and regional Forex teams.
• Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for staff and review performance regularly.
• Promote a high-performance, ethical, and customer-first work culture.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Forex banking or financial services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple branches.

Skills & Knowledge

• Deep understanding of RBI regulations, FEMA guidelines, and cross-border payment systems (like SWIFT).
• Strong financial analysis and risk management skills.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to travel across India as needed.
