Job summary

Sunny Boats in Maharashtra, Chakan invites applications for an ITI Fitter with marine fabrication experience to fit, assemble and install boat structures according to engineering drawings. You will read layouts, mark and cut materials, and ensure precise alignment and fit-up of frames, bulkheads, decks and brackets.

Working closely with welders, you will prepare joints, check dimensions with verniers and gauges, and uphold safety and quality standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Mark, measure, cut, drill and prepare materials as per drawings.
• Fit and assemble boat structures with proper alignment and fit-up.
• Identify dimensional or fitting problems and report them.

• Check dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, spirit levels, and gauges.

Job Summary :-

A Fitter in a boat manufacturing company is responsible for fitting, assembling, aligning, and installing structural and mechanical components of boats according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves working with materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other marine-grade materials.

Key Responsibilities :-

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Mark, measure, cut, drill, and prepare materials as per drawings and specifications.
• Fit and assemble boat structures, frames, bulkheads, decks, brackets, supports, and other components.
• Perform accurate alignment, leveling, and positioning of fabricated parts.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fitting equipment safely.
• Work closely with welders during fabrication and ensure proper joint preparation and fit-up.
• Check dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, spirit levels, and gauges.
• Identify dimensional or fitting problems and report them to the supervisor or engineering team.
• Ensure work is completed according to production schedules and quality requirements.

Required Skills :-

• Good knowledge of fitting and fabrication work.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of measurement, alignment, and dimensional inspection.
• Knowledge of measurement, alignment, and dimensional inspection.
• Basic knowledge of welding and weld-joint preparation is an advantage.
• Knowledge of aluminium/steel/stainless-steel fabrication is desirable.

Educational Qualification :-

• ITI Fitter / equivalent technical qualification preferred.
• Relevant experience in boat, ship, marine, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing is an advantage.
