Job Title: Firewall Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of firewall systems and related security technologies. The Firewall Engineer will ensure the security of our network infrastructure by managing firewalls and other security provisions, helping to enforce security policies, and investigating security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement firewall solutions to meet security requirements.
• Configure and maintain firewalls and associated security equipment (e.g., intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs).
• Monitor firewall performance and security events, analyzing logs and alerts to identify potential threats.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex firewall-related issues and incidents.
• Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless integration of firewall solutions within the network architecture.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments of firewall rules and configurations to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Develop and maintain documentation for firewall configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide support during security incidents and assist in forensic investigations as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in firewall technologies and cyber threats.

Skills and Tools Required:

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, or Check Point.
• Familiarity with security best practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Experience with VPN technologies (e.g., IPsec, SSL).
• Knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Proficient in using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
