Job description

Fire Safety Management

• Conduct routine inspection of fire protection systems, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, fire pumps, smoke detectors, and fire alarm systems.
• Ensure all firefighting equipment is maintained and ready for use.
• Monitor fire control panels and respond to alarms and emergency situations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs of fire safety equipment.
• Maintain records of inspections, testing, maintenance, and equipment status.

Safety Monitoring

• Conduct daily safety rounds throughout the hospital.
• Identify fire and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure safe storage of flammable and hazardous materials.
• Monitor compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
• Verify emergency exits, escape routes, and fire doors are unobstructed and functional.

Emergency Preparedness

• Participate in fire drills, mock drills, and emergency response activities.
• Assist in evacuation procedures during emergencies.
• Support incident investigations and prepare reports on fire and safety-related events.
• Coordinate with local fire authorities during inspections and emergencies.

Training & Awareness

• Educate employees on fire safety practices and emergency response procedures.
• Demonstrate the proper use of firefighting equipment.
• Assist in conducting induction training and periodic refresher training on fire and safety.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain fire safety records, checklists, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety regulations, hospital policies, NABH standards, and statutory requirements.
• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation activities related to safety management.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Fire & Safety, Fire Technology, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
• Certification in Fire & Safety Management, NEBOSH preferred.
