Job summary

DMart in Bangalore seeks an Assistant Manager Fire & Safety for the Loss Prevention & Risk Management department. The role leads fire protection programs, audits, risk assessments, and emergency response planning across stores and warehouses.

The ideal candidate will have relevant safety certifications, experience in retail/warehousing, and strong communication skills to train staff and coordinate with multiple locations in Kannada, Hindi, and English.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in science or engineering preferred.
• Diploma / PG Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering (Govt body / UGC approved).
• ADIS / PDIS preferred.
• 4–8 years of relevant Fire & Safety experience in Retail / Warehouse / Industrial ops.
• Certified Fire Officer / Fire Supervisor / Sub-Officer preferred.
• First Aid or Disaster Management certification desirable.

Education

4. Key Competencies

• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, NBC, and local fire regulations.
• Hands-on experience in audits, risk assessment, and emergency management.
• Good communication and training skills.
• Must have a good command of Kannada, Hindi and English.
• Knowledge of Telugu or Tamil will be an added advantage.
• Proactive, safety-driven, and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel frequently to multiple store locations.
