Soch Street is seeking an experienced finance leader in Chennai to drive FP&A, unit economics, and cash flow management. The role focuses on building predictive models for pricing, expansion, inventory and marketing investments, while reducing leaks through governance and automation.

The candidate will lead a 25-member finance team, partner with the founder, and deliver annual planning, rolling forecasts, and tight monthly variance analysis with strong controls and compliance across GST/TDS/TCS.

Qualifications

• Experience in business finance and FP&A roles.
• Strong understanding of unit economics, margins and contribution.
• Hands-on cash flow and working capital management.
• Proven track record in automating finance processes and using data tools/AI.
• Ability to lead and scale a finance team while maintaining controls.

• Business Finance & Unit Economics: Drive capital allocation, profitability, margins, and contribution economics.
• Decision Support: Build financial models to support pricing, market expansion, inventory, and marketing investments.
• Margin & Leakage Control: Reduce financial leakages by 40% and discounting by 20% through better controls and automation.
• Cash & Working Capital: Own cash forecasting, treasury, FX exposure, funding plans, and reduce corporate receivables to 15 days.
• FP&A: Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts, and monthly variance analysis with a focus on forecast accuracy.
• Controllership & Compliance: Ensure timely closing, reconciliations, GST/TDS/TCS compliance, audits, and group filings.
• Team Leadership & Automation: Lead a 25-member finance team, streamline operations, and reduce manual work and headcount through automation and AI.

How We Expect You to Work

• Automate repetitive finance processes using rule-based systems.
• Use AI agents for complex tasks involving contextual decisions, reconciliation, collections, and leakage detection.
• Scale transaction volumes while reducing finance team size without compromising quality or controls.

Who We’re Looking For

• 9-15 years of experience, primarily in business finance and FP&A.
• Strong expertise in unit economics, costing, contribution margins, and P&L ownership.
• Hands-on experience in cash flow management and working capital.
• Proven track record of finance automation using modern data tools and AI.
• Ability to scale operations while maintaining or reducing finance headcount.
• Comfortable partnering with a fast-paced, demanding founder.
• Stable career history with experience in well-run, cash-conscious businesses.
