Job summary

Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) seeks a seasoned Chartered Accountant to lead financial controllership for our multi-location jewellery retail network. You will drive GL accounting, monthly closures, provisions, reconciliations, and reporting in line with accounting standards while mentoring the accounting team and partnering with the CFO and senior management.

The role requires 5–8+ years of relevant experience in large-scale retail or jewellery operations, strong ERP/finance systems knowledge,

Qualifications

• CA with relevant experience in financial controllership.
• Strong experience in GL accounting, month-end closure, financial reporting, audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Experience in managing teams and coordinating with multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee GL accounting and monthly closures across locations.
• Review provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
• Coordinate internal and statutory audits and other financial reviews.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Establish and monitor accounting controls and compliance across the organization.

Job description

• Ensure timely and accurate GL accountingand closure by the finance/accounting
• teams across locations.
• Drive monthly financial closure, including review of provisions, accruals,
• reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
• Review and ensure timely completion of intercompany reconciliations and
• confirmations.
• Coordinate and facilitate internal audits, statutory audits, and other financial
• reviews.
• Ensure timely preparation and quarterly publishing of financial statements and
• management reports.
• Establish and monitor appropriate accounting controls, processes, and compliance
• across the organization.
• Review financial accounting and reporting for accuracy, completeness, and
• adherence to applicable accounting standards.
• Work closely with business, finance, tax, treasury, and other stakeholders to
• resolve accounting and reporting issues.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team and ensure clear accountability for timely
• Support the CFO & Management with reporting, controls, and other strategic
• finance initiatives.
• Ensure that all statutory dues are filed on timely basis.

Desired Profile:

• CAwith relevant experience in financial controllership.
• Typically, 5 to 8+ years of experience, preferably in a large-scale retail, jewellery,
• FMCG, or multi-location organization.
• Strong experience in GL accounting, month-end closure, financial reporting,
• audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Experience in managing teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management
• skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and large-volume transaction environments will be preferred.
