Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
• 7+ years of experience in Controllership, Financial Reporting, Accounting, or Audit.
• Strong understanding of Ind AS, financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
• Hands-on ERP systems experience and finance process automation.
• Experience leading audits and managing relationships with auditors, consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, and financial reviews.
• Deliver management reports with actionable insights on financial performance and key business metrics.
• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations including AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Payroll accounting, General Ledger, and cash management.
• Drive process improvements and automation.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven Financial Controller to lead our accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and governance functions. This role will own the integrity of our financial statements, strengthen internal controls, drive automation across finance processes, and ensure the organization is audit- and diligence-ready at all times.

What You'll Own

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, and financial reviews.
• Deliver management reports with actionable insights on financial performance and key business metrics.

Accounting & Finance Operations

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Payroll accounting, General Ledger, and cash management.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense accounting, accruals, and provisions.
• Drive process improvements and automation.
• Build scalable accounting processes that support rapid business expansion.

Controls, Governance & Compliance

• Design and strengthen financial controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, GST, TDS, Income Tax, FEMA, and other statutory requirements.
• Lead statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and investor due diligence.
• Own compliance calendars and regulatory filings.

Business Partnership

• Partner with FP&A, Operations, Procurement, HR, and Legal teams.
• Support fundraising, board reporting, and ESOP implementation.
• Provide financial guidance on commercial decisions and contracts.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing controllership team.
• Establish ownership and performance standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
• 7+ years of experience in Controllership, Financial Reporting, Accounting, or Audit.
• Strong understanding of Ind AS, financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
• Experience leading audits and managing relationships with auditors, consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and finance process automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with a Big 4 firm combined with startup or high-growth company experience.
• Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, due diligence, and board governance.
• Experience building finance processes and teams from the ground up.
