Job summary

Metayb in India seeks a Chartered Accountant (CA) to reinforce financial control, management reporting, and business analysis in FMCG/manufacturing context. You will support close activities, reconciliations, and statutory compliance while driving process improvements.

You'll work with ERP SAP, Excel, Power BI, and SQL, partner with stakeholders across functions, and coordinate with auditors. The role requires flexibility for EMEA hours and occasional international travel.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant qualification preferred for the role.
• Experience in financial control, management reporting, and business analyses.
• Strong Excel, ERP SAP, and reporting tools experience (Power BI, SQL).
• Ability to interpret data and influence stakeholders with numbers.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve open items in a timely manner.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documents.
• Manage fixed asset register including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger postings and compliance with Ind-AS/IFRS.
• Support intercompany accounting activities and variance follow-up.
• Coordinate with auditors by providing data and explanations.
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls documentation.
• Assist with process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to improve reporting efficiency.
• Support monthly payroll validation with HR for attendance, inputs, and master data.
• Assist in statutory compliance checks with required reconciliations.
• Prepare basic payroll MIS reports and payroll records.
• Address simple employee payroll queries through HR coordination.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of open items.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Manage and update the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger postings and maintain compliance with Ind-AS/IFRS.
• Support intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations and variance follow-up.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors by providing required data and explanations.
• Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
• Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to improve reporting efficiency.
• Support monthly payroll validation by coordinating with HR for attendance, variable inputs, and employee master data.
• Assist in statutory compliance checks by preparing required reconciliation data.
• Prepare basic payroll MIS reports and maintain payroll-related records.
• Help address simple employee payroll queries through coordination with HR.

Requirements:

• Chartered Accountants (2026 Passouts) will be preferred
• Work experience with financial control, management reporting, and business analyses, preferably with an FMCG, Manufacturing sector
• Advanced technical skills in Excel, ERP (SAP preferred) and PowerPoint experience with reporting & analytical tools like Power BI, SAP Analytics, Business-Intelligence environments, SQL, etc
• Strong numerical strength and demonstrated knowledge of accounting fundamentals
• Effective communication and influencing skills (using data and numbers)
• Stakeholder Management experience, along with Business Partnering
• Ability to work according to EMEA time zone (12 PM to 9 PM).
• Willingness to travel to Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, and South Africa as required.
