Job summary

Convera in Pune, India, is seeking a Financial Analyst- Billing to support the Tax & Accounting - Financial Reporting team. You will help optimize billing processes, validate transactions, and prepare management reports.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate invoicing, monthly accruals, and timely reporting. A strong Excel skillset and English communication are essential, with exposure to BI tools a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business/Finance/Accounting or related field.
• Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills.
• Experience with sales compensation and internal controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calculate sales compensation commissions and issue invoices.
• Analyze accounts, validate calculations against rules, and provide insights.
• Run monthly accruals and reconciliations.
• Support process improvements and ensure accounting compliance.
• Prepare reports and ad hoc presentations for internal reviews.

Financial Analyst- Billing

Department: Tax & Accounting - Financial Reporting

Location: Pune, India

Role Overview

As a Financial Analyst in our Pune, India office, you will play a key role supporting the Finance Senior Manager in helping to create a methodical approach for optimizing operational business processes to enhance efficiency but also perform daily tasks according to pre-established guidelines to ensure the invoicing and billing reflects the correct transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Calculating sales compensation commissions and invoicing.
• Analyzing accounts and specialized reports, investigating discrepancies, validating calculations against compensation plan rules and providing decision-making insights.
• Carrying out monthly accruals, reconciliations.
• Participating in process improvement projects and ensuring effective accounting operations and compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations.
• Prepare reports and presentations - regularly prepare and generate reporting and presentations for ad hoc internal reviews
• Dashboard/ MI maintenance and management - wrangle and retrieve large data sets for consolidation, illuminating standard reporting metrics within custom dashboards to promote transparency across all key stakeholders
• Process development and approach - assist the Senior Manager to collaborate with other key stakeholders and develop standardized team processes to develop and define "how we work"

Required Qualifications

• Analytical skills
• Good communication and consultation skills, both written and verbal in English
• Experience in sales compensation
• 4-5 years of experience in accounting
• Familiarity with the accounting standards and a degree in Business Management/ Finance / Accounting or a related
• Change Management experience
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including modeling, advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros etc.)
• An advantage if you have hands-on proficiency in one or more of the following business intelligence, visualization, and advanced analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Snowflake, or other similar systems.)
• Experience in the EU/Global payments industry would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, rigorous, organized and disciplined
• Excels in team environment with the ability to collaborate and liaise with geographically distributed teams
• Self-starter with 'can-do' attitude, a service mindset, and proactive in responding to requests
• Professional, detail-oriented, and organized, with outstanding follow-up abilities
