Job summary

ENGIE India in Pune or Mumbai is seeking a Financial Analyst for the AIFA team to evaluate greenfield and M&A opportunities and support structuring and financing plans. You will build robust financial models and assess tax and accounting impacts to inform investment decisions.

You bring a finance or engineering degree (CFA/CIMA/ACA/ACCA a plus) and 2+ years of financial analysis experience, with advanced Excel and macros. Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering or a professional qualification such as CFA/CIMA/ACA/ACCA.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in project finance, financial advisory, or investment analysis.
  • Proven financial modelling expertise with advanced Excel skills and macros capability.
  • Solid understanding of valuation methodologies, accounting principles, and tax structuring.
  • Familiarity with energy markets; renewables exposure in India/MEA/Africa is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, independence, and ability to manage multiple priorities; excellent English communication; French is a plus.

  • Contribute to development of internal AIFA methodologies and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with senior team on cross-regional transactions across India, MEA, and Africa.

Financial Analyst – AIFA (Project Finance & Investments)

As a Financial Analyst within our AIFA team, you will play a key role in assessing greenfield and M&A opportunities. Your financial models and analyses will directly influence investment decisions and help secure the funding that turns ambitious plans into operational assets.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain financial models for project valuations in line with ENGIE’s investment guidelines and modelling standards.
  • Conduct financial analyses, review third-party models, and perform model audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the structuring and execution of project financing plans, including bank selection and funding source evaluation.
  • Prepare accounting and tax impact assessments within financial models, collaborating with internal experts and external advisors.
  • Analyze risk allocation, bankability considerations, and tax optimization strategies for new transactions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal AIFA methodologies and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on cross-regional transactions spanning India, the Middle East, and Africa.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering, or a professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, or ACCA.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within project finance, financial advisory, or investment analysis.
  • Proven financial modelling expertise with advanced Excel skills, including the ability to write basic Macros.
  • Solid understanding of financial valuation methodologies, accounting principles, and tax structuring.
  • Familiarity with energy markets and risk allocation frameworks; exposure to renewables in India, the Middle East, or Africa is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
Location

Pune or Mumbai, India. This is an on‑site role. Travel to the Middle East and Africa region is expected based on project requirements.
