Job summary

PXP is seeking a Finance Transformation Business Analyst to drive automation and transformation initiatives within the finance function. The role involves owning initiatives from problem identification through requirements definition, solution design, implementation and adoption, working closely with Finance, Technology and other teams.

You will deliver transformation, map current-state and future-state processes, and ensure new solutions are embedded into Finance operations.

Qualifications

Finance Transformation Business Analyst

Working Model: Hybrid Working

Summary

This is an opportunity to sit at the centre of that transformation. You will take ownership of finance automation and transformation initiatives, working closely with Finance, Technology and other teams to understand how processes work today, identify where they can be improved, and turn those opportunities into well-defined projects and solutions.

We are looking for someone who combines a Business Analyst mindset with strong project and transformation capabilities. You will not simply document existing processes. You will challenge them, redesign them and help drive them through to implementation.

In this role you will add value to PXP by:

As a Finance Transformation Business Analyst, you will help drive the automation and continuous improvement of our Finance function.

You will take ownership of transformation initiatives from initial problem identification and process discovery through requirements definition, solution design, implementation and adoption. At the same time, you will act as a hands-on Business Analyst, working directly with stakeholders to understand processes, data, systems and pain points.

Your role will be equally focused on delivering transformation and identifying what we should improve next, helping Finance continuously evolve rather than treating automation as a one-off project.

A typical week might involve:

• Mapping an existing Finance process end-to-end to understand the current workflow, systems, data, controls and manual activities.
• Working with Finance stakeholders to identify pain points, inefficiencies, duplication and opportunities for automation.
• Translating business needs into clear requirements, process maps, user stories and solution requirements.
• Challenging existing processes and asking whether they can be simplified or redesigned before they are automated.
• Taking ownership of finance transformation and automation projects from initial concept through implementation.
• Coordinating Finance, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure projects continue moving forward and dependencies are addressed.
• Supporting the design, testing and implementation of new automated processes, tools and workflows.
• Running workshops with stakeholders to define current-state and future-state processes.
• Managing project plans, priorities, risks, actions and deliverables across transformation initiatives.
• Reviewing processes that have already been transformed to identify opportunities for further optimization and innovation.
• Helping build a pipeline of future Finance automation and transformation opportunities.
• Ensuring new solutions are properly documented, understood and embedded into Finance operations.
• Measuring whether implemented changes are delivering the intended improvements and identifying where further changes are required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience as a Business Analyst, Transformation Analyst, Project Manager or similar role.
• Has strong experience in process analysis, process improvement and requirements gathering.
• Is comfortable taking ownership of projects and driving them through from idea to implementation.
• Can understand complex business processes and translate them into clear, structured requirements.
• Has experience creating process maps, documenting current and future-state processes and identifying process gaps.
• Is naturally curious and willing to challenge established ways of working rather than simply documenting them.
• Has strong stakeholder management skills and can work effectively across Finance, Technology and operational teams.
• Is highly organised and capable of managing multiple initiatives and dependencies simultaneously.
• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Can communicate complex problems and requirements in a simple and structured way.
• Is comfortable working both strategically on transformation priorities and hands-on at detailed Business Analyst level.
• Has a mindset focused on continuous improvement, automation and finding better ways of working.

We would love someone to have any of the following:

• Previous experience working on Finance transformation or Finance automation projects.
• Experience working directly within or alongside a Finance function.
• Understanding of finance processes such as reconciliation, reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, billing or financial controls.
• Experience with workflow automation, process automation or digital transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with ERP, finance, reporting or data platforms.
• Experience working between business and technology teams to deliver automation solutions.
• Experience within payments, fintech, financial services or another high-volume transactional environment.
• Exposure to AI-enabled automation or modern automation technologies would be advantageous.
