Job summary

DP World’s Global Service Centre (GSC) in Australia is seeking a Senior Manager-Finance-Freight Forwarding to lead the Forwarding Finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely controls.

You will oversee transactions in CargoWise and Oracle Fusion, drive month-end closes, reconciliations, and KPI reporting, while partnering with Operations, Commercial, and Shared Services to align with global standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally a qualified or Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance with 8-12 years management experience in a financial reporting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, costing, revenue recognition, audit procedures.
• Experience in a shared services centre or freight forwarding industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Forwarding Finance team to process financial transactions in CargoWise, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee invoice validation, payment processing, receipt creation and application in Oracle Fusion/CargoWise.
• Ensure timely completion of supplier SOA reconciliations, bank reconciliations and month-end close.
• Monitor service delivery against SLAs, KPIs and quality standards.
• Review shipment-/customer-/GP profitability reports to provide business insights.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies and audit requirements.
• Drive resolution of operational issues and process exceptions to maintain smooth operations.

• Role Purpose: Responsible for leading financial reporting and compliance, ensuring accurate statements, and delivering strategic insights to senior leadership. The role drives performance analysis, supports decision-making, and implements process improvements while managing a team and ensuring adherence to global standards.

Region: Australia (Shift: 3:30 AM / 4:30 AM)

Key Role Responsibilities:

Production & Service Delivery

• Lead and manage the team responsible to process the financial transactions in CargoWise, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
• Oversee invoice validation, payment processing, receipt creation, and receipt application in Oracle Fusion/Cargo Wise
• Ensure timely completion of supplier SOA reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Monitor service delivery against agreed SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
• Review and analyse shipment-level, customer-level, and GP profitability reports to provide meaningful business insights.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
• Drive resolution of operational issues and process exceptions to maintain smooth business operations.

Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop the Forwarding Finance team to achieve operational and performance objectives.
• Manage team capacity, workload allocation, and resource planning to ensure optimal productivity.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support employee development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Build team capability through training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

Act as the key point of contact for Operations, Commercial, Global Finance, Shared Services, and other business stakeholders.

• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely resolution of queries and escalations.
• Lead governance discussions and provide updates on operational performance, risks, and key improvement initiatives.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with business leaders to drive process improvements and support business objectives.

High level of integrity

• Mandatory experience in Freight Forwarding Finance with strong knowledge of CargoWise system.

Education & Qualifications

Ideally a qualified or Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance with 8-12 years management experience in a financial reporting role

• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• 12+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in finance operations, preferably in a shared service centre or freight forwarding industry.
• Extensive knowledge of financial reporting standards, costing, revenue recognition, audit procedures, and financial planning.
