Job summary

Tohands in Bengaluru is seeking a curious, detail-obsessed finance intern to join our Finance department. From week one you'll work on live data, real transactions, and actual financial workflows with full guidance.

You'll gain hands-on experience in day-to-day accounting, invoicing, bank reconciliation, GST, and MIS reporting, using Zoho Books, Shopify data, and related tools. This 6-month internship offers practical mentorship, a stipend of 10–15k per month, and a pathway to full-time

Qualifications

• Curious and analytical finance intern with attention to numeric accuracy.
• Foundational accounting knowledge and ability to apply concepts practically.
• Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets required.
• Exposure to Zoho Books or similar accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record daily transactions in Zoho Books with accuracy.
• Track orders and reconcile revenue data with books.
• Generate invoices and monitor payment statuses.
• Perform bank reconciliation and flag discrepancies.
• Assist with GST filings and TDS workings under guidance.

Job description

We're looking for a curious, detail-obsessed finance Intern to join our Finance department. This isn't a \"watch and shadow\" internship. From week one, you'll be working on live data, real transactions, and actual financial workflows with full guidance.

If you love spotting patterns in numbers, get mildly annoyed by mismatched figures, and want to understand how a business's money actually flows this is for you.

What You'll Work On

• Day-to-Day Accounting : Record and maintain daily transactions in Zoho Books including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries with accuracy and consistency.
• Order Tracking & Revenue Reconciliation: Work across Shopify and GoSwift to track orders, monitor fulfilment status, and reconcile order-level revenue data with books.
• Invoicing & Receivables: Generate invoices, monitor payment statuses, and follow up on outstanding dues in a timely and professional manner.
• Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statements with book entries, identify gaps, and flag discrepancies for review.
• Expense Management: Categorize and record business expenses, support petty cash entries, and assist with employee reimbursement documentation.
• Reporting & Analysis: Pull reports from Zoho Books (P&L, cash flow, aging reports) and help the team make sense of the numbers, spotting trends, flagging anomalies, and summarizing key takeaways.
• Compliance Support: Assist in organizing data for GST filings, TDS workings, and other statutory requirements, always under senior guidance.
• MIS Reporting: Assist in building and maintaining the monthly Management Information System (MIS) report that goes directly to our investors. Help present it in a clean, accurate, and decision-ready format. Attention to detail here is non-negotiable.
• M&A Exposure: As a growing organization, we are actively involved in evaluating acquisition opportunities and strategic transactions. You will get direct exposure to this workstream supporting financial modelling, company valuation analysis, and organizing due diligence documentation.

Who We're Looking For

• Qualifications: Pursuing or recently completed M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.

You Should Have

• A genuine analytical eye, notice when something doesn't add up, and you're curious enough to find out why
• Working knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheets
• A foundational understanding of accounting concepts
• Reliability and attention to detail in accounts, small errors have real consequences
• Great If You Have (But Not Required):
• Any prior exposure to Zoho Books, Tally, or similar accounting software
• A prior internship or academic project in finance or accounts
• Basic familiarity with GST or Indian tax concepts

What You'll Walk Away With

• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books, end-to-end exposure to real accounting operations, regular mentorship, a certificate of completion. Exceptional performers will be considered for a pre-placement offer to join the team full-time.
