Chief Manager - Finance

Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded, and detail-oriented Chief Manager - Finance to lead the financial operations of our growing retail chain and gifting business. In this role, you will hold end-to-end accountability for both the company's financial health, financial planning and analytics and vendor and customer management functions while serving as a key strategic partner to the business.
The ideal candidate will seamlessly blend rigorous accounting oversight with high-level financial analysis tracking margin levers, identifying cost efficiencies, and translating complex financial data into actionable growth strategies for our retail and gifting footprint.
Core Responsibilities
1. Core Financial & Transactional Oversight
- Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee the entire AP lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely payments to domestic and international food vendors, logistics partners, and service providers. Optimise credit terms and manage vendor relationships and reconciliations effectively.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage AR processes across retail outlets, corporate gifting channels, e-commerce platforms, and wholesale accounts. Ensure prompt collections, manage ageing reports, and mitigate bad debt risk.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash balances and forecast working capital requirements to ensure optimal liquidity for inventory procurement and expansion.
2. Strategic Collaboration & MIS Management
- Executive Partnership: Work closely with the CFO & COO to align financial planning with the companys long-term business and expansion objectives.
- Monthly MIS Ownership: Drive the compilation, accuracy, and timely delivery of the monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports.
- Trend Analysis: Analyse monthly financial and operational data to highlight trends, deviations, and opportunities, presenting clear narratives and recommendations to the executive team.
3. Margin, Cost, and Commercial Control
- Margin Optimization: Closely monitor and manage Gross Margins across different product categories (e.g., incomes, perishables, private labels). Identify margin leaks and suggest pricing or sourcing adjustments.
- Cost Lever Management: Track and optimize key retail cost drivers, including store-level labor costs, shrinkage/wastage, logistics, and retail rentals.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic rolling forecasts for individual stores and the overall corporate entity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or an MBA in Finance from a tier-1 business school.
- Experience: 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the Retail, FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Hospitality sectors .
