Automios is seeking an experienced Finance Head to own the complete Finance & Accounts function. This on-site role at IIT Madras Research Park demands leadership in financial accounting, statutory compliance, audits, planning, treasury, controls and reporting to support scale.

The role requires CA qualification and 10+ years in Finance & Accounts, with hands-on expertise in end-to-end accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Finance & Accounts: AP, AR, GL, payroll, banking and book closure.
• Prepare and finalize P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Ensure GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI/PT and ROC compliance.
• Lead audits and auditors interactions; close audit observations.
• Manage fundraising diligence, investor reviews and M&A support.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, MIS, variance analysis, modelling and cash flow.
• Strengthen internal controls, SOPs and accounting processes.
• Oversee working capital, receivables/payables and treasury activities.
• Prepare investor-ready reports and support leadership reporting.
• Mentor the finance team and collaborate with HR, Sales and Delivery.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Head to own and lead the complete Finance & Accounts function at Automios.

This is a high-ownership leadership role responsible for financial accounting, statutory compliance, audits, financial planning, treasury, controls, reporting and business finance. The Finance Head will work closely with the Founders/CFO and senior leadership and will play a critical role in building a robust finance function as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end Finance & Accounts function, including AP, AR, GL, banking, payroll accounting and book closure.
• Own preparation and finalization of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, PT and ROC requirements.
• Lead statutory, internal and tax audits and independently manage auditor interactions and closure of audit observations.
• Manage financial due diligence for fundraising, investor reviews and M&A activities.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, MIS, variance analysis, financial modelling and cash-flow planning.
• Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs and accounting processes.
• Manage working capital, receivables, payables, banking relationships and treasury activities.
• Prepare investor-ready financial reports and support board/leadership reporting.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic business decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounts team.
• Work closely with HR, Sales, Delivery and other functions on payroll, billing, collections and financial planning.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
• 10+ years of overall experience in Finance & Accounts, including significant experience in a senior/leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting and finalization of books.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in audit management and financial due diligence.
• Strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, MIS, cash-flow management and financial analysis.
• Experience managing and mentoring finance/accounting teams.
• Proficiency in Tally / Zoho Books / ERP systems and Advanced Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work directly with auditors, banks, investors and senior leadership.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a startup, technology or fast-growing organization.
• Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting or M&A due diligence.
• Experience with multi-entity / multi-GST accounting.
• Knowledge of RBI/FEMA compliance and foreign transactions.
• Experience in building finance processes and controls from the ground up.
