Job summary

Uniserve in Chennai seeks a Finance Data Analyst to join the Central Data Office. The role focuses on finance data mapping, KPI definition and governance, ensuring trusted data for organisation-wide reporting.

You will collaborate with Finance, Data and BI teams to standardise reporting processes, validate data, and deliver governance controls across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. 7–8 years of experience and ACCA/CIMA qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent recognised accountancy qualification).
• Strong understanding of financial statements and core finance processes.
• Experience defining financial KPIs, reporting structures and business rules.
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
• Strong documentation and specification-writing skills.
• Experience working with finance reporting, data governance or business intelligence environments.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Power BI, semantic modelling and DAX.
• Strong focus on data quality, governance and auditability.
• At least 7-8 years' experience in a similar role, engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, data standardisation or enterprise reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and standardise finance semantics, KPIs and reporting definitions across multiple operating companies, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Working Capital, Cost Centres, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger structures.
• Lead workshops with finance stakeholders to agree consistent definitions, business rules and reporting requirements.
• Produce clear finance mapping specifications, decision logs and acceptance criteria for technical and data teams.
• Define validation, reconciliation and audit controls to ensure accuracy, traceability and trust in reporting outputs.
• Drive standardisation and help eliminate inconsistent interpretations of financial data across the business.
• Contribute to governed semantic models and self-service datasets, ensuring calculations and business logic are applied consistently.
• Build and maintain a select suite of standard finance reports aligned to business reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Business Intelligence and Data teams to deliver effective reporting and analytics solutions.

We are seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join our Central Data Office. This role is ideal for a finance-qualified professional with strong accounting expertise and a passion for data, reporting and business improvement.

Working closely with Finance, Data and Business Intelligence teams, you will help establish consistent financial definitions, standardise reporting processes and ensure trusted, governed data is available across the organisation. While the role includes some report development, its primary focus is on finance data mapping, KPI definition, validation, reconciliation and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
