The ideal candidate has 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a controllership role, and a track record of building disciplined, performance-oriented finance teams in pharmaceutical or related industries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA Finance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial management, taxation, budgeting, and financial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for financial control across multiple business units.
  • Review and streamline existing accounting processes and systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely books of accounts and financial reporting.
  • Establish standardized accounting procedures, controls, and SOPs.
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure.
  • Identify and eliminate accounting discrepancies, leakages, and control gaps.
  • Strengthen approval, authorization, reconciliation, and documentation processes.
  • Lead and oversee the finance and accounts team.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, reporting structures, and performance expectations.
  • Review team performance and ensure timely completion of finance activities.
  • Develop team capabilities and improve productivity.
  • Establish accountability and ownership across the finance function.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process across business units.
  • Develop budgets in coordination with business and functional heads.
  • Establish budgetary controls and approval mechanisms.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets.
  • Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead periodic forecasting and financial planning.
  • Support management in long‑term financial planning.
  • Establish strong financial discipline across business units.
  • Monitor spending against approved budgets.
  • Review major expenses, procurement costs, and financial commitments.
  • Identify cost optimization and efficiency opportunities.
  • Ensure departments operate within established financial controls.
  • Develop financial policies and guidelines where required.
  • Develop standardized monthly and periodic MIS reporting.
  • Provide management with clear visibility into revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and working capital.
  • Establish financial KPIs and dashboards for business-unit performance.
  • Analyze financial performance and highlight key risks and opportunities.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Monitor financial performance of individual business units.
  • Track revenue, gross margins, operating expenses and profitability.
  • Support business heads with financial analysis and decision‑making.
  • Evaluate financial implications of new products, projects, investments, and business initiatives.
  • Support management in improving business‑unit profitability.
  • Oversee statutory, internal, tax, and financial audits.
  • Ensure timely statutory and tax compliance.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and external advisors.
  • Ensure audit readiness and timely closure of observations.
  • Strengthen financial governance and internal control frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve finance processes.

Our client is a growing pharmaceutical company operating across multiple business units and markets . With an expanding portfolio and increasingly complex operations, the organization is strengthening its finance function to establish robust financial systems, improve financial discipline, and support sustainable business growth.

The company is looking for an experienced Finance Controller who can take ownership of the finance control function across multiple business units and bring greater structure, accountability, and financial discipline to the organization.

Position Summary

The Finance Controller will be responsible for streamlining accounting operations, strengthening financial controls, leading the finance team, establishing budgeting and forecasting systems, and providing management with accurate financial visibility across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of overall finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Finance Controller or equivalent controllership role .

This is a hands-on management role for someone who can assess the existing finance function, identify gaps, implement stronger systems and controls, and build a disciplined, performance-oriented finance organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Accounting
  • Take overall responsibility for financial control across multiple business units.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline .
  • CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA Finance is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial management, taxation, budgeting, and financial controls.
Experience
  • 10+ years of overall experience in Finance & Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in a Finance Controller / Financial Controller / equivalent controllership role.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams and financial operations.
  • Experience managing finance across multiple business units or entities .
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, FMCG, Manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive businesses is preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, MIS, financial controls, and management reporting is mandatory.
  • GCC/UAE/KSA finance and compliance exposure will be an added advantage.
