Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Associate based in India.

As a Finance Associate, you will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, strengthening collection performance, and supporting the financial health of the business. You will oversee a portfolio of customer accounts, working proactively to resolve payment delays, manage disputes, and reduce overdue balances. The role offers hands‑on exposure to the end‑to‑end Order‑to‑Cash (O2C) process, from invoicing and cash application to credit control and collections. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to address billing challenges and ensure accurate, timely payments. Working with financial systems and reporting tools, you will contribute to efficient processes and reliable month‑end reporting. This opportunity is ideal for a detail‑oriented finance professional who takes ownership, enjoys problem‑solving, and thrives in a collaborative, international business environment.

Accountabilities
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 90-100 customer accounts, including high-value accounts and customers with aged outstanding debt.
  • Drive accounts receivable and credit control activities, ensuring timely collections across all aging categories, from current balances to debts overdue by more than 365 days.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up with customers on overdue payments, and implement appropriate collection strategies to improve cash flow.
  • Investigate, manage, and resolve customer disputes related to purchase orders, delivery, services, pricing, invoicing, customer portals, and payment terms.
  • Handle cash application, cash posting, customer billing, invoicing, and related revenue processes to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Work with customer invoicing platforms, including Tungsten, Ariba, and Coupa, to facilitate invoice submission, tracking, and resolution.
  • Support month‑end closing activities, particularly cash posting, cash application, and accounts receivable reconciliation as required.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve payment issues, improve collection efficiency, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Use financial systems and reporting tools to monitor account performance, identify collection risks, and support informed decision‑making.
  • Demonstrate accountability, sound judgment, and a proactive individual‑contributor mindset while maintaining accuracy and efficiency across daily operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, collections, or credit control, preferably managing complex or high‑value customer portfolios.
  • Order-to-Cash knowledge: Good understanding of the end‑to‑end O2C process, including collections, billing, cash application, cash posting, dispute resolution, and revenue‑related activities.
  • Account management: Proven ability to manage a large portfolio of customer accounts, prioritize collection activities, and address overdue balances across multiple aging categories.
  • Dispute resolution: Practical experience investigating and resolving invoice and payment disputes involving purchase orders, sales orders, delivery, pricing, service issues, invoicing requirements, and payment terms.
  • Systems expertise: Hands‑on experience with customer invoicing portals such as Tungsten, Ariba, and Coupa. Familiarity with Oracle ERP is also required.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, with the ability to analyze account data and monitor collection performance.
  • Financial operations: Experience supporting month‑end activities, cash posting, cash application, customer invoicing, and billing processes.
  • International exposure: Experience working with UK customers or businesses is preferred.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and internal stakeholders professionally to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Personal attributes: A detail‑oriented, analytical, and organized approach, combined with persistence in collections, effective problem‑solving, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Benefits
  • Healthcare and family coverage: Group medical insurance of INR 500,000 for employees and eligible dependents, plus dental and vision coverage up to INR 5,000.
  • Financial protection: Group term life insurance and group personal accident coverage, including disability benefits, with benefit levels linked to employee grade.
  • Retirement benefits: Provident Fund, gratuity, access to the National Pension Scheme, and additional long‑term financial security provisions.
  • Wellbeing support: Indian Health Organisation membership, confidential employee assistance services, and wellbeing resources.

  • Everyday perks: Subsidized meals, long‑service awards, an employee referral programme, and support for important family milestones.
  • Paid time off: 25 days of annual holiday, in addition to 10 public holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Family leave: Paid maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
