Confidential in Kolkata, India, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls in a fast-growing agribusiness context.

The role partners with the Group CFO/CEO to deliver timely MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with GST, TDS, and income tax. 6–12 years in agribusiness finance, strong Tally/ERP and MS Excel skills, and leadership acumen are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, and accounting controls.
  • Hands-on experience in monthly closing, MIS reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual book closing and ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, MIS reports, management dashboards, and budget-versus-actual variance analyses.
  • Provide financial analysis, MIS, and actionable insights to the Group CFO / CEO to support business planning and management decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements, taxation regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Ensure timely GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable statutory filings and compliances.
  • Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits and ensure timely closure of audit requirements and observations.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs, accounting processes, and proper financial documentation.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, vendor and customer reconciliations, fixed assets, and balance-sheet schedules.
  • Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables, working capital, and financial risks, and escalation key issues to senior management.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, tax consultants, and other external stakeholders as required.
  • Support the Group CFO in annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, banking requirements, and funding-related activities.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting through Tally / ERP systems and MS Excel.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team to improve accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance, strengthen internal controls, and provide timely financial analysis and MIS to support management decision-making.   • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, and accounting controls.
  • Hands-on experience in monthly closing, MIS reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in Tally / ERP software and advanced MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
