Overview
As a Field Service Representative - Turbo Compressor (TCP), you will travel to client facilities across Asia Pacific and globally. You will be responsible for all aspects of commissioning the compressor product lines and accessory equipment, ensuring satisfactory handover to the customer. You will perform specialist troubleshooting tasks and facilitate communication between field personnel and Siemens Energy engineering centers to ensure flawless execution of tasks. Documenting clearances, addressing technical queries, and managing job progress are essential for success.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a zero-harm culture by following and enforcing all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
- Interact with customer and Siemens organizations to report progress, resolve issues, and identify potential services based on customer needs.
- Perform complex problem solving on machinery and ancillary systems; coordinate with engineering to report and implement changes to resolve issues.
- Provide technical direction to clients or Siemens Energy employees; communicate progress, schedules, and open items with the client; prepare detailed technical reports.
- Travel for extended periods domestically and internationally as assigned; international assignments may include travel to developing countries.
- Able to perform duties on day or night shift under difficult conditions (heat, cold, noise); able to travel on short notice and work weekends and holidays; physically fit to climb ladders and work around machinery.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 5+ years of direct related experience on installation and commissioning and overhauling of Single Shaft Turbo Gas compressors; advanced proficiency in precision measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of Dry Gas Seal System, installation and commissioning.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Excellent and professional communication skills both written and oral; ability to hold difficult discussions with customers; negotiating skills are a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based portals.
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems, PLCs.
- Basic commercial knowledge to understand contract deliverables and identify items outside boundaries for additional funding from the customer.
- Ability to complete offshore survival training (Bosiet).
- Willingness to work on offshore assignments (sometimes long term).
