Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Safety Officer to oversee HSE practices for service and maintenance activities across fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and BMS systems. You will ensure regulatory compliance, perform risk assessments and foster a strong safety culture across operations.

The role requires 4–6 years in HSE and a Diploma or Bachelors in engineering or safety fields. You will coordinate PTW, investigations, and safety trainings while maintaining comprehensive HSE records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety management, occupational health & safety or a related field.
• 4–6 years of HSE management experience in service, maintenance, ELV, fire and security, controls or MEP environments.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, BMS, electrical safety standards, permit-to-work, work-at-height and hot work safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, client safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, risk assessments and hazard identification.
• Monitor service and maintenance activities involving fire, security, controls and automation systems.
• Prepare JSA, MS and RA documentation.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and training for engineers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper use of PPE at project and service sites.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate PTW activities including hot work, work at height, electrical work and confined space entries.
• Maintain HSE records, reports and inspection checklists.
• Monitor contractor and vendor safety performance during service activities.
• Support emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and fire safety programs.
• Liaise with customers, site management and regulatory authorities on safety matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements (MS), and Risk Assessment (RA) documentation.

• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in HSE management for Service, Maintenance, ELV, Fire & Security, Controls, or MEP environments.
• Strong knowledge of: Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), CCTV & Access Control Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Safety Standards, Permit-to-Work Systems, Work-at-Height and Hot Work Safety.
• Familiarity with local safety regulations and client-specific HSE requirements.
• Excellent communication, training, and incident investigation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting tools.
