Job summary

Synthite in Kerala, India is seeking a proactive Scientist to join our Research & Development team. This role covers end-to-end recovery and purification of biological molecules and hands-on bench-scale experimentation, with the ability to support scale-up activities.

The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. or Masters in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology, 6–10 years in a lab-based R&D setting focusing on downstream processing and purification, plus strong analytical and modeling skills.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory-based R&D environment with focus on downstream processing and purification.
• Analytical expertise in purification scale-up, process optimization, and mathematical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute robust purification strategies to achieve high-purity product recovery using solvent extraction, chromatography, filtration (including TFF), and crystallization.
• Actively perform bench-scale experiments and troubleshoot; support transition from bench to pilot scale.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards and deliver projects on time.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Scientist to join our Research & Development

team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end recovery and purification of biological

molecules. The ideal candidate will combine strong expertise in small-molecule downstream

processing with the ability to actively perform hands-on bench-scale experimentation and

support scale-up activities.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute robust purification strategies to achieve high-purity product

recovery using techniques such as solvent extraction, column chromatography, advanced

filtration methods (including TFF), and crystallization. Actively perform and troubleshoot bench-

scale experiments and support the transition of processes from bench scale to pilot scale.

Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards, and deliver projects

efficiently within defined timelines.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Ph.D. or Masters degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering/ Biotechnology


• Experience: 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory-based R&D environment, with a strong focus on downstream processing and purification.


• Analytical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of purification scale-up principles, process optimization, and mathematical modeling.
