Job summary

Cisco's Failure Analysis team in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned technical leader to drive root-cause analysis for customer issues on high‑speed boards. You will partner with EMS and cross‑functional teams to replicate problems, isolate faults, and guide corrective actions in a fast paced environment.

The role requires a strong background in high‑speed board design, SERDES, and Cadence Allegro, with deep knowledge of Cisco products.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 13+ years of related experience.
• Experience with high speed board design and board bring-up.
• Experience with high-speed network interfaces and hands-on board design with Cadence Allegro or similar tools.
• Experience with high-speed SERDES (>=25G), signal integrity, and power distribution.
• Knowledge of Cisco products.

Responsibilities

• Drive EMS partners to deliver timely and accurate results in replicating and isolating root causes for customer issues.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to accelerate replication of customer-reported issues.
• Articulate key technical issues to stakeholders and drive timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with PQE/CEs to drive Corrective and Preventive actions across issues.
• Contribute to initiatives to enhance test strategies and diagnostic coverage for field returns.

We are Cisco's Failure Analysis team, which plays a critical role in ensuring high Customer/Product quality. The Quality organization is responsible for delivering customer focused quality, reliability solutions and infrastructure for Cisco products. It is committed to driving a competitive advantage for Cisco by ensuring innovation and excellence in manufacturing technology, test, and component engineering, NPI, and closed-loop quality management.

• Failure Analysis Technical Lead will work with and drive EMS partners to deliver timely and accurate results in duplicating, isolating root cause of customer issues.
• Work closely with a multi-functional team of Product Leads, Technical Leads and Customer Support to accelerate replicate customer reported issue.
• Articulate key technical issues to stakeholders, sense issues early, identify impact and partner to drive resolution.
• Collaborate with PQE/CEs and drive Corrective/ Preventive action. Design Issue, MFG Issue, Process, supplier issue.
• Participate in initiatives to enhance existing test strategies, methodologies and test/diagnostic coverage for field returns to aim for improvements in the accuracy of the fault duplication and isolation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors in electrical or computer engineering with 13+ years of related experience.

• Experience with sophisticated high speed board design and board bring-up.
• Experience with high-speed network interfaces along with previous hands‑on board design expertise and familiarity with board design tools such as Cadence Allegro or similar tools.
• Experience with high-speed SERDES (>=25G) system design, signal integrity issues, and power distribution techniques
• Knowledge of Cisco products

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering with 10+ years of related experience

• Familiarity with leading‑edge CPUs such as Intel or AMD, analog and networking components such as PCIe switches, PHY, retimers, voltage regulators.
• Experience in unit test methodologies
• Experience in Quality Management System methodology
