Job summary

Champion Seals invites applications for the Factory Manager role at the Kanhe Factory, Pune. The role oversees production, quality, maintenance, planning, compliance, and industrial relations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operation across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in factory leadership within manufacturing, exposure to large-scale operations, and a track record of driving productivity and cost optimization while ensuring statutory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Engineering, Science, or any recognized discipline.
  • Additional qualifications in Production, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Management will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Factory Manager or in a senior manufacturing leadership role.
  • Experience leading operations in a manufacturing organization with turnover of INR 100 to 350 crores.
  • Exposure to industrial products, engineering products, rubber, or paper manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all factory operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other manufacturing resources.
  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and manufacturing cost performance through structured improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, GMPs, and ISO standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Purchase, Stores, Dispatch, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance for seamless business operations.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of manufacturing plans.
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks to achieve committed customer deliveries.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to established quality systems and standards.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement, waste reduction, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maximize equipment availability, machine reliability, and plant uptime.
  • Monitor utilities and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Factories Act, Labor Laws, MPCB, PESO, Boiler Regulations, Fire & Safety Regulations, Environmental Regulations, OH&S requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, renewals, licenses, audits, and statutory filings with government authorities.
  • Ensure that all factory records, registers, licenses, and statutory documentation remain current and complete.
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, discipline, and compliance across the factory.
  • Ensure implementation of all safety procedures and conduct regular safety audits and training.
  • Oversee factory administration, security, housekeeping, employee welfare, and infrastructure management.
  • Maintain healthy industrial relations and proactively resolve employee issues.
  • Develop and mentor supervisors and employees to improve capability and performance.

  • Prepare and present periodic MIS reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Recommend and implement strategies for improving factory performance and profitability.

Role Overview

The Factory Manager will lead overall manufacturing operations, FACTORY ADMINISTRATION, ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and profitable performance across the facility.

The role covers production, quality, maintenance, planning, statutory compliance, factory administration, industrial relations, and continuous improvement, with accountability for timely delivery of quality products.

Reporting to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Operations
  • Lead and manage all factory operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives.
