Job summary

Varex Imaging, based in Salt Lake City, USA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe operation of Electrical, HVAC and Utilities at their Visakhapatnam site. You will perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, coordinate with suppliers, and assist in installing new systems and improvements.

Candidate should have a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical with 5–7 years of experience, strong hands-on in electrical, HVAC, and utilities, and familiarity with SAP and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical with 5–7 years of maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical systems and utilities.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems preferred.
• Good problem-solving and supplier management.
• Ability to work in shifts and physically fit.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper functioning and safety of operations and utilities.
• Perform maintenance and repair of electrical, electronics, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Maintenance: preventive, predictive and breakdown with minimum downtime.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with suppliers and contractors.
• Assist in setup/install of new systems and utilities equipment; support improvement projects and retrofits.
• Upkeep of infrastructure for civil, carpentry, plumbing with suppliers.
• Assist in budgeting and maintain inventory/spare parts.
• Hands-on maintenance for electrical (HT/LT, panels, DG, UPS), HVAC, and utilities.
• Troubleshoot equipment; calibration/testing.
• Prepare layouts and ensure safety compliance.
• Ensure H&S with PPE.
• Follow quality standards (MTBF, MTTR) and best practices.

Job Description

• Responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and safety of our operations and Utilities (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical and Utilities).
• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, such as fixing electrical, electronics, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems and troubleshooting for problem solving.
• Maintenance activities - Preventive, Predictive and Breakdown with minimum downtime.
• Planning and Coordination for Daily, weekly, Quarterly and Yearly breakdown activities with suppliers and contractors.
• Assist in the setup and installation of new systems and Utilities equipment's, as well as supports to execute Improvement projects and retro fitment job.
• Upkeeping of Infra structures and maintenance activities for Civil, Carpentry and Plumbing with suppliers.
• Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed. Handson knowledge for operational maintenance (O&M) for Electrical (HT/LT, Breakers & LT Panel, Transformers, DG, UPS) HVAC (Central Air-cooling system, VRV, Clean room etc.) and Utilities (Air compressors, FAS, Fire Hydrant & Sprinklers, Pump house, STP/ETP/WTP, Stackers & Lifters, Gases set up etc.)
• Perform troubleshooting of the Equipment in electrical circuits, electronics, Vacuum, heat treatments, High Voltages.
• Knowledge on troubleshooting on Electrical circuits and wiring, Electronics, Mechanical works, welding, Gas lines, Scrubbers etc. Knowledge on calibration & testing of instruments and assist in performing Calibration activities for equipment
• Prepare and maintain spare part list Equipment / system wise and maintain the stock up to date with proper inventory.
• Follow Quality standards for Preventive Maintenance, Breakdowns - MTBF, MTTR, etc.
• Assist in marking layouts and providing suggestions and best practices according to industry standards.
• Ensure H&S safety aspect while performing works with proper PPE and Guidelines.

Experience Level with Business Tools

• Familiar with business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Supervision

Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instruction only on new assignments.

Required Profile

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role with Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical qualification with 5-7 years of Experience.
• Basic understanding of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Utilities, Gas lines, hydraulic & Pneumatic other systems
• Knowledge of general and standard maintenance processes& method with H&S aspect
• Knowledge & hands-on experience on MS Office, AutoCad knowledge is preferred.
• Problem-solving skills, People Management (Suppliers & Contractors) and CFT
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work as on when required.
