Job summary

Emerson in Pune district seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee daily operations, maintain lab infrastructure, and drive reliability across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems.   • 8-15 years of facility management or engineering operations experience.
  • Experience managing office facilities, engineering infrastructure, and labs such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, R&D, testing, calibration or industrial labs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, utility management, maintenance strategies, and facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facility operations and ensure effective building services and utilities.
  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and uptime.
  • Manage service providers, AMCs, and vendor performance to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Ensure operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, fire protection, power backup, and related utilities.
  • Monitor facility performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support laboratory environments across Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, Calibration and Testing Labs.
  • Ensure availability of laboratory utilities (power, clean power, grounding, compressed air, exhaust, environmental controls).
  • Coordinate equipment installation, relocation, maintenance, calibration, and infrastructure mods.
  • Support lab expansion, refurbishment, and new facility development projects.
  • Manage high/low tension electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, backup power, batteries, and earthing.
  • Drive energy efficiency, utility optimization, and sustainability programs.
  • Oversee building automation and electronic systems (access control, CCTV, fire alarms, PA, BMS).
  • Lead facility renovation, expansion, fit-out, and infrastructure improvement projects with budgets, schedules, and quality control.
  • Review technical specs, drawings, BOQs, and project execution plans.
  • Support procurement by evaluating proposals and contractor capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain facility asset registers and lifecycle planning.
  • Lead, coach, and develop facility engineers, supervisors, technicians, and support staff.

Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Oversee daily facility operations and ensure the effective functioning of building services and utilities.
  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and operational uptime.
  • Manage service providers, annual maintenance contracts, and vendor performance to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing systems, elevators, fire protection systems, power backup systems, and related utilities.
  • Monitor facility performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage infrastructure requirements for specialized laboratory environments, including Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, Calibration, and Testing Labs.
  • Ensure availability and reliability of laboratory utilities such as power distribution, clean power systems, grounding systems, compressed air, exhaust systems, and environmental controls.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, relocation, maintenance, calibration activities, and infrastructure modifications.
  • Support laboratory expansion, refurbishment, and new facility development projects.
  • Manage high-tension and low-tension electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, backup power systems, batteries, and earthing installations.
  • Drive energy efficiency, utility optimization, and sustainability programs.
  • Oversee HVAC equipment, ventilation systems, compressed air infrastructure, pumps, piping networks, and other mechanical utilities.
  • Manage building automation and electronic systems, including access control, CCTV, fire alarm systems, public address systems, and building management systems.
  • Lead facility renovation, expansion, fit-out, and infrastructure improvement projects while managing budgets, schedules, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, bills of quantities, and project execution plans.
  • Support procurement activities by evaluating technical proposals, quotations, and contractor capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain facility asset registers and support lifecycle management planning.
  • Lead, coach, and develop facility engineers, supervisors, technicians, and support personnel while fostering a culture of operational excellence, safety, and collaboration.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience managing office facilities, engineering infrastructure, and specialized laboratory environments such as Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, R&D, Testing, Calibration, or Industrial Labs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, utility management, maintenance strategies, and facility operations.
  • Understanding of workplace safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Experience managing service providers, contractors, maintenance programs, and operational budgets.
  • Ability to lead multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Advanced qualification in Business Administration, Facility Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications related to facilities management, safety, energy management, or project management.
  • Experience managing large-scale technical laboratories, research facilities, or industrial campuses.
  • Knowledge of energy conservation programs, sustainability initiatives, and environmental management practices.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), facility analytics, and technology-enabled operations.
  • Exposure to capital project planning, infrastructure expansion, and facility modernization programs.
  • Experience developing and managing operational and capital budgets.
