Job summary

MindKind Early Years in Chennai is seeking warm, patient educators to guide 2–6 year olds through nature-based learning and mindful play. You will provide gentle caregiving, support daily routines, and help children navigate emotions while documenting progress for families using the preschool app.

The role emphasizes curiosity, respectful teaching, and collaboration with the Curriculum Coordinator and team, with opportunities for growth and involvement in school events.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Prior experience in a preschool/early learning environment is preferred.
• Strong spoken English; Tamil is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn MKEY's nature-based learning philosophy.
• Basic classroom management and observation skills.
• First Aid or CPR certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate nature-based learning experiences for 2–6 year olds daily.
• Provide gentle, responsive caregiving and help with emotions and conflicts.
• Support daily routines including transitions, meals, rest, and toileting.
• Prepare and maintain safe, inviting, well-organised learning spaces.
• Observe and document each child's learning on the preschool app.
• Assess progress using MKEY’s rubrics and share insights.
• Collaborate with Curriculum Coordinator to plan lessons.
• Collaborate with the team and build trusting relationships.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development and events.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Facilitate engaging nature based learning experiences in the classroom each day for 2 to 6 year olds.
• Provide gentle, responsive caregiving, helping children navigate emotions and conflicts with empathy.
• Support children through daily routines, including transitions, meals, rest and toileting.
• Prepare and maintain safe, inviting, and well-organised learning environments.
• Observe and document each child's learning, experiences, and daily activities on the preschool app to keep families and MKEY team informed.
• Assess children's progress using MKEY’s assessment rubrics.
• Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator to plan and assist in preparing lesson plans catering to each child.
• Collaborate with the rest of MKEY team as needed.
• Build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues through respectful communication.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events while upholding MKEY’s philosophy and child safeguarding practices.
