Job summary

Mafatlal Industries Limited in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Fabric Sourcing Manager to oversee end-to-end fabric sourcing and development, ensuring the right quality, specifications, and timely availability to meet business requirements.

You will build and manage a robust supplier base, negotiate competitive prices, monitor fabric quality and testing, and coordinate with production teams for sampling and bulk orders.

Qualifications

• Graduate or diploma in Textile Technology or Textile Engineering.
• 6–10 years in fabric sourcing or procurement.
• Experience in uniforms or large-volume apparel is preferred.
• Strong supplier network in textile hubs is a plus.
• Good knowledge of fabrics, yarns, and finishing processes.
• Understanding of fabric costing and market pricing.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate effectively.
• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP/ procurement systems.

Job description

To manage end-to-end fabric sourcing and development for the organisation, ensuring the right quality, specifications, pricing and timely availability of fabrics as per business requirements. The role will be responsible for developing a reliable supplier base, negotiating competitive prices, monitoring quality and ensuring uninterrupted fabric supply for sampling and bulk production.

Experience & Qualification: -

• Graduate / Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in fabric sourcing / procurement, preferably with a garment manufacturing or textile organisation.
• Experience in sourcing fabrics for uniforms, institutional garments, corporate wear or large-volume apparel programmes will be preferred.
• Strong supplier network across textile manufacturing hubs will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of textile and garment fabrics.
• Good understanding of yarns, fibre compositions, weaving, knitting and finishing processes.
• Good understanding of fabric costing and market pricing.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate effectively.
• Strong planning and follow-up skills.
• Good understanding of fabric quality and testing parameters.
• Ability to manage multiple developments and sourcing activities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and relationship-management skills.
