Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a skilled welder to join our first shift, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in a fast-paced assembly-driven facility. You will identify weld wire and alloys, adjust equipment, and execute GMAW on aluminum in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.

You will also perform post-weld treatment and demonstrate strong weld quality and consistency. The role emphasizes safe handling of equipment, adherence to continuous improvement, and ability to work with several hundred welds in a

• Proven ability to identify proper welding wire and alloy for base metal.
• Ability to set and adjust welding parameters, wire speed, and voltage.
• Demonstrated competency in GMAW techniques on aluminum in various positions.
• Must meet physical requirements and pass welding performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper welding wire and alloy for the base metal.
• Change wire, rollers, tips, diffusers, nozzles; set proper tension on rollers.
• Set proper welding parameters (voltage and wire speed).
• Demonstrate competency in GMAW on aluminum in multiple positions.
• Perform post-welding treatment: brushing, cleaning, straightening, weld quality.
• Pass welding performance test during on-site interview process.

Shifts Available: First Shift 5AM to 1PM

What you will be doing

• Identify proper welding wire and alloy is used for the applicable base metal.
• Ability to change wire, rollers, tips, diffusers, nozzles and set proper tension on rollers.
• Ability to set proper welding parameters (voltage & wire speed).
• Demonstrate competency in GMAW techniques with solid wire on aluminum in the Flat, Horizontal & Vertical Fillet Positions.
• Demonstrate competency in post welding treatment – i.e., brushing, cleaning, straightening & weld quality.
• Pass Welding Performance Test (given on-site during interview process-Q.A. determination).
• Fast paced assembly style facility.
• Ability to handle several hundred small welds applied in a single shift.

• Must demonstrate the ability to safely lift to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
• Must have the ability to stand on hard surfaces while working.
• Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled temperatures.
• Commitment to participate in continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical Training Desired with focus in Welding.
• Welding Certification, preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math skills
