Job summary

EY is seeking a qualified Manager – Capex Controller in India to lead end-to-end Capex governance and forecasting within a manufacturing environment. You will partner with FP&A and Treasury, ensuring accurate SAP capitalization and robust data-driven insights for leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Proven experience in manufacturing sector.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICO.
• Experience working cross-functionally with FP&A and Treasury for forecasting and cash planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Capex planning, tracking, capitalization, and reporting.
• Monitor Capex spends vs budgets with variance analysis and insights.
• Partner with FP&A to ensure Capex reflected in forecasts and financial plans.
• Collaborate with Treasury to align Capex with cash flow planning.
• Work with Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to gather data.
• Ensure accurate asset creation, capitalization, and depreciation in SAP.
• Maintain governance over Capex processes per accounting standards and controls.
• Analyze large datasets and translate into leadership insights.
• Drive automation and standardization of Capex processes.
• Act as business partner on investment decisions.
• Prepare materials and lead bi-weekly CapEx Steering Committee meetings.
• Analyze Capex requests to ensure data completeness.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Manager – Capex Controller to lead and manage capital expenditure processes within a manufacturing environment. The role involves end-to-end ownership of Capex governance, financial analysis, and close alignment with FP&A and Treasury to ensure accurate forecasting and effective cash flow planning.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end Capex planning, tracking, capitalization, and reporting
• Monitor Capex spends vs budgets and provide detailed variance analysis and actionable insights
• Partner with FP&A teams to ensure all Capex investments are accurately reflected in forecasts and financial plans
• Collaborate with Treasury to align Capex outflows with cash flow planning and liquidity management
• Work closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to gather relevant data and validate assumptions
• Ensure accurate asset creation, capitalization, and depreciation in SAP
• Maintain strong governance over Capex processes ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Analyse large datasets and translate them into meaningful insights for leadership decision-making
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation in Capex processes
• Act as a key business partner, providing critical thinking and constructive challenge on investment decisions
• Prepare meeting materials and lead bi-weekly CapEx Steering Committee meetings with top executive leadership to present the status of projects and projects pending approval.
• Analyze capital expenditure request forms to ensure that all required data is included from operations and local finance team
