Job summary

Corning Incorporated in India seeks a senior project manager to lead collaboration with external manufacturers, manage cross-functional programs, and drive cost efficiency across products in the OCS division.

You will oversee BOM, AVL, data systems, NPIs, and global projects, with travel up to 50% mainly in APAC, and work with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required.
• Engineering bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years in engineering & manufacturing environment with PM experience preferred.
• 5+ years working on major global projects.
• Understanding of product structures, BOM, AVL.
• Understanding of PDM, ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure external manufacturers and key suppliers meet project requirements.
• Analyze and optimize forecasts to align with production schedules and deliveries.
• Analyze inventory data to support revenue targets with low inventory levels.
• Manage product BOM, AVL, and process maps data.
• Escort product data from design stages through NPI to volume manufacturing and EOL.
• Develop and maintain metrics and scorecards for execution traceability.

Purpose of Position:

Position that manages key projects with External/Contract Manufacturing Partners that enable quicker, smoother growth and cost effectiveness for products in OCS Division. This position will work cross functionally and Globally with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, PLM, GSM & Quality.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that External Manufacturers and key suppliers meet requirements for key projects
• Analyze and optimize forecasts to match production schedules and customer deliveries
• Analyze inventory data with recommendations to help position the business to lowest inventory level while supporting revenue targets
• Understand and manage product BOM, AVL, Process Maps and associated data
• Escort product data, from design stages through NPI and volume manufacturing into EOL stage.
• Develop and maintain impact metrics and score cards to maintain execution traceability

Travel and location of work

• • Up to 50% travel. Primarily travel within APAC region
  • Role based out of the APAC Region

Minimum Education, Skill and Experience Requirements

• Must be proficient in English
• Engineering bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Engineering & Manufacturing environment and Project Management is preferred
• Minimum 5+ years working on major global projects
• Understanding of Product Structures, BOM, AVL
• Understanding of PDM, ERP/MRP systems
