The Export Business Development Executive, also known as the Export Executive, is responsible fordriving business growth through the development and management of export opportunities. Theyplay a crucial role in identifying new markets, establishing relationships with international customers,and ensuring smooth export operations. The Export Executive collaborates with internal teams andexternal partners to achieve sales targets, expand the company's global presence, and ensurecustomer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential export markets, assess market trends, competitors, and customer preferences. Analyze market intelligence to develop effective export strategies and identify new business opportunities.
- Business Development: Generate leads and develop new business opportunities in target markets. Actively prospect and engage with potential international customers through various channels, including trade shows, online platforms, and referrals. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.
- Customer Relationship Management: Establish and nurture relationships with international customers, agents, distributors, and other stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Sales and Negotiations: Drive sales growth by presenting product offerings, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers. Collaborate with the sales team to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Export Operations Management: Coordinate and oversee export operations, including order processing, documentation, logistics, and shipment tracking. Ensure compliance with export regulations, trade policies, and legal requirements of target markets. Collaborate with internal teams to fulfil orders and resolve any operational issues.
- Export Documentation: Prepare and manage export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping documents. Ensure accuracy and compliance with export regulations and customer requirements.
- Export Compliance: Stay updated on export control regulations, trade sanctions, and international trade laws. Ensure compliance with applicable export regulations and implement export compliance programs within the company.
- Market Intelligence and Reporting: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Provide regular reports and insights to management regarding export sales performance, market dynamics, and opportunities for business growth.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including production, logistics, finance, and customer service, to ensure seamless export operations and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with these teams to fulfill orders, address customer inquiries, and resolve issues effectively.
- Continuous Learning and Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging markets, and technological advancements that may impact export operations. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills through self-learning, training, and participation in industry events.
- Production Plant Visit: Coordinate and facilitate visits to the production plants in Morbi, if necessary, during customer visits. Provide guided tours, explain the manufacturing processes, and address any customer inquiries or concerns related to production.
- New Customer Approach: Proactively identify and approach potential new customers in target markets. Conduct market research to identify potential leads and develop strategies to attract and acquire new customers. Initiate contact, introduce the company's products and services, and establish relationships with new customers.
- Product Selection Assistance: Accompany clients during product selection to provide expert advice, insights, and recommendations. Assist clients in understanding the product offerings, specifications, and customization options available to meet their specific requirements.
- Sales Generation: Actively pursue sales opportunities with existing customers through upselling, cross-selling, and offering new product solutions. Identify customer needs and propose suitable products or services to drive sales growth.
- Sales Follow-up: Follow up on sales leads, inquiries, and quotations to convert them into confirmed orders. Provide timely and accurate information to customers, address any concerns or objections, and negotiate terms to secure sales.
Required Skills
- Master’s / Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and manage export operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Solid understanding of export regulations, trade compliance, and international business practices
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data and make informed business decisions.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, export management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
