Overview
The Senior Project Controller will support AUS Mining projects by managing and controlling costs, schedule, risk, and reporting. The role works closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, and commercial functions to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Cost & Financial Control: manage budgets, forecasts (EAC/ETC), variance analysis and invoicing.
- Planning & Scheduling: support MSP/P6 schedules, track progress and critical path.
- Reporting: prepare dashboards, KPIs, and project performance insights.
- Risk & Change: maintain risk, issue and change registers, assess impacts.
- Governance: support WBS, baselines, and ensure process compliance.
- Data Management: maintain accurate project data and reporting systems.
- Stakeholder Coordination: work with PMs, engineers, and finance teams.
- Knowledge of Oracle, ERP System.
Skills & Competencies
- Project management skills.
- Hands‑on experience using P6 and MSP.
- Understanding and utilization of CPM, EV techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of planning philosophies, principals, practices & techniques.
- Significant relevant experience (7-8 years) in project planning and controlling.
- Expertise in MS Excel/Word for developing tools and dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with international planning and project controls teams.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in global, multidisciplinary teams.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS Suites, Power BI & Power Apps.
- Knowledgeable about industry standards and best practices in project or design management.
- Effective team player, able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Evidence of commercial and contractual awareness, ability to demonstrate financial acumen and analytical skills; experience with Oracle systems is advantageous.
- Professional certification/membership from APM/PMI desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Project Management / related field or a combination of relevant project management experience and qualifications.
- Relevant 7+ years of experience in Project management industry.
- Demonstrable project management skills reflecting the responsibilities above.
- Preferred membership/certifications e.g., PMP / Primavera / AACE.
