Job Description – Experienced Financial Analyst, IP Valuation & Advisory Services
We are seeking an Experienced Analyst to join our IP Valuation & Advisory Services team in our Mumbai office. In this role, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on complex IP analytics, financial models, and valuation. Experienced Analysts take a lead role on significant portions of engagements, valuing intangible assets and IP‑rich businesses in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and financial and tax reporting requirements.
Scope
Our IP Valuation & Advisory Services team provides specialized valuation services for intellectual property (IP) assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. We advise clients on the value of their IP for transactions (M&A, capital raising, licensing), financial reporting, tax compliance, litigation support, and strategic decision‑making. As part of a global consulting firm, our work combines deep industry knowledge with rigorous quantitative analysis.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyzing and explaining complex historical and projected financial information.
- Executing detailed business, industry, and financial due diligence with a focus on IP assets.
- Conducting in‑depth industry and sub‑sector research related to technology, innovation, and intellectual property trends to generate unique insights.
- Valuing intellectual property assets and IP‑focused businesses using various methodologies (e.g., relief from royalty, multi‑period excess earnings, discounted cash flow), often with limited supervision.
- Developing and owning complex financial models to support valuation analyses and strategic advice.
- Taking a primary role in drafting client presentations, detailed valuation reports, and other deliverables.
- Actively participating in business development initiatives and client pitches.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in consulting, investment banking, valuation, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
- Advanced quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical abilities are essential. While extensive knowledge of IP is not a prerequisite, a demonstrated interest in technology and innovation is a strong plus.
- Strong fundamental understanding and application of financial valuation methodologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to structure and resolve complex issues.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- A high degree of professionalism, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.

Additional Consideration
- Chartered Accountants / CFA / MBA degree from an accredited institution.
- Direct experience in IP valuation, technology‑focused finance/consulting, or transaction advisory.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and act as a mentor for junior analysts.
