Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Expediting Engineer to drive procurement speed and align schedules for international and domestic suppliers. The senior role requires 11–12 years of EPC expediting experience and a proven ability to ensure on-time delivery of rotating, static, piping, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Expedite supplier materials and documents for rotating, static, piping, electrical, and instrumentation items.
• Understand manufacturing sequences for major static, rotary, and EI items.
• Know long-lead items and critical processes in equipment fabrication.
• Review supplier manufacturing schedules.
• Understand supplier document submission timelines.
• Desk expediting for supplier documents and scope.
• Field expediting of international and domestic suppliers.
• Independently handle expediting assignments.
• Conduct periodic meetings with supplier, engineering, projects, and client to review progress and highlight issues.
• Coordinate to resolve issues or delays in procurement and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to expediting activities.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with vendors to improve delivery performance.

Position Overview:

As a senior Expediting Engineer at Burns & McDonnell, your role will be pivotal in the successful execution of work share projects between our consultancy firm and our US parent company.. The ideal candidate should have 11-12 years of experience in the EPC industry and a proven track record of ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment. You will play a critical role in maintaining project schedules and ensuring that our projects progress smoothly.

Key Credentials & Responsibilities:

1.Will be responsible to expedite supplier for project material and supplier document for Rotating equipment, Static Equipment, Piping and structural Material, Electrical & Instrumentation Items for international and Domestic suppliers.

1. Well verse with Manufacturing sequence for major Static, Rotary & E& I Items.

2. Knowledge of Long lead Items and critical process in equipment Fabrication.

3. Shall be able to understand & review supplier Manufacturing schedule.

4. Shall have basic understanding of Supplier documents submission timeline.

5. Desk Expediting for supplier documents and scope.

6. Field Expediting of International & Domestic supplier.

7. Independently handle Expediting assignment.

8. Independently Conduct periodic meeting with Supplier, Engineering discipline, Projects , Client to review overall supplier progress & to highlight key issues impacting Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and final contractual delivery date.

10.Coordinate to resolve any issues or delays in the procurement and delivery process.

11.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to expediting activities.

12.Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

13.Collaborate with vendors to improve delivery performance.

Qualifications

1..Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

2.11-12 years of experience in expediting within the EPC industry.

3.Exceptional written and spoken English is required, as all communication will be with US, UK, and European suppliers and stakeholders.

4.Excellent problem-solving abilities.

5.Advanced computer literacy
