Job summary

MAN TRUCK & BUS INDIA PVT. LTD. seeks a procurement professional for the International Procurement Office in Pune, reporting to the Head of IPO and aligned with the Central Purchasing Organization in Germany.

The role demands expertise in forging, ferrous and non-ferrous casting, machining of truck parts, RFQ management, bid analysis, and cost data governance to ensure uninterrupted material flow.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP MM module.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes.
• Excellent English; German would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and scouting suppliers; registering on B2B portals.
• Floating RFQs, bid comparison and contract negotiations.
• Negotiate pricing amid commodity, power, wages, currency fluctuations.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness.
• Track cost data and monitor key metrics related to commodities.

Job description

• The said position will be part of International Procurement Office (IPO) team located at Pune which is associated with Central Purchasing Organization in Germany and will report to the Head of IPO
• The candidate will be functionally responsible to the leader of the assigned parts commodity at Central Purchasing Organization, Germany
• The ideal candidate should possess expertise in forging, ferrous and non-ferrous casting, and the machining of various parts required for the truck industry
• Research and scouting for potential suppliers across commodities, guiding and supporting them for registration on B2B sourcing portal
• Floating RFQ, comparison of the bids, contract negotiations and prepare decision templates
• Negotiation and price settlement on account of fluctuation in various cost parameters such as commodity, power, wages, currency etc.
• Negotiate the commercial impact of technical changes with series supplier and provide the most economic and sustainable solution
• Align and develop synergy potential in cross-brand cooperation across TRATON / VW Group and implement the potential for cost savings
• Responsible for maintaining and monitoring master cost data and ensuring uninterrupted flow of material
• Act as an interface partnering with potential, reliable and cost competitive suppliers
• Track and report key functional metrics related to commodity, currency and other cost elements
• Working experience of online sourcing portal
• Experience with SAP in MM module to ensure the preparation and release of Purchase Orders
• Skills in the areas of data management and IT literacy
• A knack for negotiation and networking, flexible approach to succeed in fast moving environment
• Exposure to manufacturing processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in German will be an advantage

• High degree of flexibility and readiness to travel
