Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store is seeking an experienced HV test engineer to conduct and supervise testing of power transformers up to 500 MVA and 765 kV, and shunt reactors up to 110 MVAr, 765 kV.

The role covers routine, type, and special HV tests per IEC/IEEE standards, LI/SI and PD measurements, SFRA diagnostics, and related testing methods to ensure reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in high voltage (HV) testing for transformers and reactors.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards related to HV equipment.
• Experience with LI/SI, PD measurement, SFRA diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise testing of power transformers up to 500 MVA, 765 kV.
• Test shunt reactors up to 110 MVAr, 765 kV.
• Perform routine, type, and special HV tests per standards (IEC, IEEE).
• Execute LI/SI, PD, temperature rise, short-circuit tests, and winding measurements.
• Include SFRA (Sweep Frequency Response Analysis) in test regimes.

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise testing of:
• Power transformers up to 500 MVA, 765 kV
• Shunt reactors up to 110 MVAr, 765 kV
• Perform routine, type, and special tests as per standards such as:
• IEC (IEC 60076 / IEC 60076-6)
• IEEE (IEEE C57 series)
• Execute tests including:
• Lightning impulse (LI) / Switching impulse (SI)
• Partial discharge (PD) measurement
• Temperature rise test
• Short-circuit withstand test (coordination)
• Ratio, vector group, winding resistance, capacitance & tan delta
• SFRA (Sweep Frequency Response Analysis)
