Job summary

Ajit Industries in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead customer quality issues and ensure conformity with IATF 16949 standards. The role focuses on complaint handling, containment, and driving CAPA with cross-functional teams.

You will visit customer locations, collect data, and coordinate with the plant to implement corrective actions, validate changes, and ensure timely closure while maintaining documentation such as PPAP, PFMEA, ISIR, and PSW.

Qualifications

• B.E./Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or Polymer Technology or related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 systems is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in customer complaint handling and PPAP documentation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer complaint investigations and containment actions.

Job Title - Quality - Senior Engineer

Department - Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Customer Complaint Handling
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality complaints.
• Visit customer locations to investigate complaints, collect data, and implement immediate containment actions.
• Coordinate complaint investigation and closure with the Cross-Functional Team (CFT).
• Lead and support containment, correction, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
• Process Quality Assurance.
• Conduct Process Inspection as per Control Plans and Work Instructions.
• Identify process deviations and escalat quality issues for timely resolution.
• Ensure adherence to customer specifications and internal quality standards throughout production.
• Customer Quality Documentation
• Prepare customer submission documents including:
• o PPAP
• o PFMEA
• o ISIR
• o PSW
• Verify documentation accuracy before submitting it to the quality manager for review and approval.
• Maintain customer quality records and documentation.
• Process Validation
• Participate in validation of new products, new processes, and process changes.
• Verify that validation results comply with customer-specific and internal requirements.
• Document validation results and report any deviations.
• Validate new punching dies in coordination with the DIE Maintenance team.
• Verify jigs and fixtures for functionality, error-proofing, and process efficiency.
• Compliance and Continuous Improvement
• Monitor compliance with quality standards throughout manufacturing.
• Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
• Support implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings.
• Promote continual improvement activities to enhance product quality and process capability.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Handle Internal Laboratory testing activities in the absence of the lab technician.
• Collect and analyze process performance data from cross-functional departments.
• Maintain quality records, retained samples, inspection reports, and related documentation.
• Prepare and submit monthly quality performance reports to the Quality Manager and Plant Head.
• Support training and guidance for quality inspectors and technicians.

Education

• B.E., or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience
• 4-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 systems is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in customer complaint handling and PPAP documentation is desirable
