Job summary

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc. in India seeks a microbiology professional to perform site microbiological testing (RM, IP, FG, Stability) and maintain robust lab operations for timely reporting.

You will handle sampling of EM and water, calibration of instruments, preparation of media, and ensure daily records and QMS compliance while growing in a collaborative pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• MSc in Microbiology or Biotechnology required.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology lab desired.
• Strong documentation and data recording skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform site microbiological testing of RM, IP, FG, and Stability samples and report on time.
• Maintain site lab activities including media, culture, consumables, instruments, and cleaning.
• Sample and analyze EM, water and other utility samples.
• Perform microbial and chemical analysis of various water types and trends.
• Conduct environmental monitoring in production, stores, and microbiology lab.
• Calibrate, qualify and operate instruments such as incubators, oven, autoclave, pH and conductivity meters.
• Prepare, sterilize and decontaminate media and glassware.
• Maintain daily records in microbiology laboratory.
• Handle microbial mother cultures, sub-culturing and documentation.
• Manage QMS documents, OOS, OOT, investigations, and lab events.
• Complete all Microbiology Section documents and records.

Key responsibilities:

• To perform the site microbiological testing of samples (RM, IP, FG, Stability) and report on time.
• To maintain site laboratory activities to support testing includes media management, culture management, consumable management, instrument & equipment management, cleaning & disinfection etc.
• To perform the sampling and analysis of EM, water and other utility samples.
• To perform the microbial and chemical analysis of purified water, potable water, raw water including bore well water, preparation of trends.
• To perform environmental monitoring in production, stores, and in microbiology laboratory by settle plate & air sampler, preparation of trends.
• To perform the calibration and qualification and operation of instruments like incubators, oven, autoclave, water bath, PH meter, conductivity meter and analytical balance, laminar air flow , vivek-2, compact system and TOC.
• To perform the preparation, sterilization & decontamination of media and sterilization of glassware.
• To maintain the recording and maintenance of daily records in microbiology laboratory.
• To perform the handling, identification, preservation of microbial mother culture and its sub culturing.
• To handle the all microbiological QMS document OOS, OOT, investigation, lab events etc
• To complete all documents and records related to Microbiology Section.
