ICRISAT invites applications for the position of Field Assistant - Regenerative Landscape under the Global Research Program Resilient Farming Systems. You will support field implementation of benchmark and living landscape initiatives across Telangana, engaging with farmers and local communities to monitor progress and report findings.

Formación

• Intermediate (12 standard) or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agroforestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, Soil Science, or a closely related discipline.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience in agricultural extension, field implementation, community mobilization, watershed development, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture or related areas.
• Experience in conducting field surveys, data collection, farmer trainings, demonstration management and community engagement desirable.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office or digital reporting tools will be an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Support implementation and monitoring of regenerative agriculture interventions, crop demonstrations, farming systems, nursery activities, soil and water conservation measures etc.
• Assist in conducting household surveys, baseline assessments, farmer profiling and collection of biophysical, agronomic and socio-economic data using prescribed formats and digital tools.
• Support establishment, maintenance and monitoring of on-farm demonstrations and trials, including timely recording of crop growth, yield, input use and other field observations.
• Mobilize farmers and community institutions for project activities and facilitate farmer meetings, field days, exposure visits, trainings and awareness programs.
• Work closely with farmers, self-help groups, local institutions, line departments and project partners for smooth implementation of project interventions at assigned clusters.
• Maintain accurate field registers, activity records, beneficiary databases, geo-referenced information, photographs and other project documentation.
• Assist scientific and project staff in field sampling, data collection, monitoring, verification and periodic reporting of project progress and outcomes.
• Document field observations, good practices, case studies and success stories and provide timely inputs for technical and progress reports.

Job Summary

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic and motivated professionals for the position of Field Assistant - Regenerative Landscape with the Global Research Program Resilient Farming Systems. The incumbent will support field implementation of benchmark and living landscape initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity, climate-resilient agriculture technologies and rural livelihoods. The role requires close interaction with farmers, community institutions and project partners to facilitate timely implementation, monitoring, documentation and reporting of project interventions. There are 4 vacancies, and all the positions are based across Telangana, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation and monitoring of regenerative agriculture interventions, crop demonstrations, farming systems, nursery activities, soil and water conservation measures etc.
• Assist in conducting household surveys, baseline assessments, farmer profiling and collection of biophysical, agronomic and socio-economic data using prescribed formats and digital tools, as applicable.

Essential Qualifications

• Intermediate (12 standard) or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agroforestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, Soil Science, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience in agricultural extension, field implementation, community mobilization, watershed development, agroforestry, fodder systems, regenerative agriculture or related areas
• Experience in conducting field surveys, data collection, farmer trainings, demonstration management and community engagement will be desirable.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office, mobile-based data collection applications or digital reporting tools will be an advantage.

Terms of Appointment

This is a contract role for 36 months (03 years). It may be renewed based on performance and the Institute's continuing need for the position.
