Job summary

TMF Group in Mumbai is seeking a proactive Accounting & Taxation Executive to manage accounting operations, GST, TDS, and related financial reporting. You will support month-end closings, audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements, while helping strengthen internal controls.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of experience, a B.Com or equivalent, familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally or NetSuite, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
• CA Inter / CMA Inter candidates may be preferred.
• 1–4 years of experience in Accounting, Taxation and Financial Reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax provisions.

Responsibilities

• Pass and review accounting entries in ERP/accounting systems.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate accounting of expenses, accruals, and provisions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting & Taxation Executive to manage accounting operations, statutory compliances, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely tax compliance, and support for audits and month-end closing activities.

Experience

1-4 years of experience in Accounting, Taxation and Financial Reporting.

Accounting

• Pass and review accounting entries in ERP/accounting systems.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate accounting of expenses, accruals, and provisions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare data and working papers for GST return filings.
• Perform GST reconciliations and Input Tax Credit (ITC) validation.
• Calculate, deduct, and reconcile TDS liabilities.
• Support direct and indirect tax compliance requirements.
• Maintain statutory records and compliance documentation.
• Track tax payment and filing deadlines.

Audit & Reporting

• Support internal, statutory, and tax audits.
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and audit-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in preparation of MIS reports and financial analysis.

Process Improvement

• Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper documentation and internal controls.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, or manufacturing industries.
• Exposure to month-end close and audit processes.
• Understanding of financial controls and compliance frameworks.

• Timely completion of reconciliations.
• Accuracy of accounting transactions.
• Compliance with GST and TDS deadlines.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.

• 1-4 years of relevant experience in Accounting & Taxation.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles.
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax provisions.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Basic Formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, NetSuite, or similar.
• Good analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
