Purpose

To head the Asset Maintenance Department and ensure the availability of assets for uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain assets including barges, material handlers, tippers, pay loaders, excavators, trailers, etc.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities focusing on cost efficiency and quality.
• Implement and control maintenance activities to keep assets operational.
• Prepare annual operation and maintenance plans and budgets, managing capex and opex, including spares inventory, to ensure optimal fleet utilization.
• Procure and manage spares considering maintenance needs.
• Ensure maintenance is carried out efficiently and safely, adhering to quality and industry standards.
• Implement effective preventative and responsive maintenance systems to minimize breakdowns and ensure equipment availability.
• Monitor mechanical workshop activities and establish a robust 24/7 operational process.
• Develop a system for daily monitoring of equipment availability.
• Evaluate and improve transportation and material management systems.
• Manage vendor evaluation, development, and relationships.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure asset availability for sea and land operations.
• Maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) as required.
