Job summary

Volvo Group is launching the ExcelHer program in India to support professionals restarting their careers. The 9-month assignment places you as a Purchasing Associate within the Purchasing Support Centre, working with global teams and buyers from Group trucks, buses, and Penta sites.

You will handle RFQ management, supplier inquiries, and portfolio analyses while learning from experienced global end users and supply chain experts.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/E&E/Industrial is required.
  • Must be a quick learner and drive competence building.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset with good communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Proactiveness is an absolute must!
  • Positive and collaborative mindset to contribute to Volvo Group.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomous maintenance of Handler Logs and portfolio activities.
  • RFQ management including launching quotes and supplier queries.
  • Prepare quotes summaries and cost breakdowns for suppliers/parts.
  • Resolve portfolio issues with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform analyses: price trends, ABC analysis, supplier dashboards.
  • Support supplier integration: EDI, supplier portal access, Parma code updates.
  • Maintain dashboards and reports for various departments.

The Purchasing Associate within the Purchasing Support Centre will be responsible for handling standardscope activities delegated by buyers from all Group trucks, buses, and Penta sites globally.

Main Activities & Responsibilities
  • Autonomous maintenance of Handler Logs and other Portfolio Activities/Order Management/PriorityAftermarket Requisitions handling
  • RFQ Management including Launching, follow-ups for quotes, and answering supplier queries incollaboration with buyers and PD and XF teams
  • Compiling & analyzing quotes from suppliers, preparing preliminary quotes summary/analysis as well as acost breakdown for various suppliers and parts
  • Solving portfolio-related issues with suppliers/cross-functional teams and Supplier Price DiscrepancyManagement/Issues Handling
  • Performing various analysis for buyers and managers like Price Inconsistency Analysis, 80/20 Analysis, ABCAnalysis, Volume trend Analysis, Supplier Dashboard Creation, Material Cost Levels Report, Supplier SpendAnalysis, Part Price Evolution, Cost Per KG Analysis, Supplier Deep Dive Analysis
  • Supplier Integration Support on buyer request - Support in establishing EDI Connections, Supplier PortalAccess, Creation/Addition/Deletion of Parma Code/Supplier base administration, Supplier Base Follow-ups
  • Taxonomy and Segmentation Support to buyers and management, segment owners, and maintenance ofVarious Department Dashboards and Reports
Qualifications
  • University degree in BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/E&E/ Industrial

  • Good understanding of different manufacturing processes and best practice costing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills - true connector working in eco-systems
