Job summary

Jesons Industries in Chennai invites applications for a maintenance engineer responsible for minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance of plant machinery at Gummidipoondi.

You will coordinate with electrical, mechanical and instrumentation agencies, schedule maintenance with production, record compliance with QMS, operate utilities, calibrate instruments, monitor consumptions, and uphold safety and 5S on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Responsible for reducing plant breakdowns through preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation teams.
• Ensure compliance with QMS standards in recordkeeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Reduce downtime by planning preventive maintenance and immediate breakdown response.
• Coordinate with agencies for electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation maintenance.
• Schedule maintenance work with production and user departments.
• Recordkeeping of maintenance routines per QMS standards.
• Operate utilities efficiently (ETP, STP, DM Plant, Boiler, Compressors, RO, Cooling Tower).
• Calibrate and check instruments, ensure earthings and equipment safety.
• Monitor utility consumption and costs; report variances.
• Uphold safety, PPE usage and safe working conditions.
• Maintain 5S on shopfloor and assist in audits.
• Suggest improvements/innovations for process efficiency.

Responsible for reducing breakdowns through immediate attention and preventive maintenance of the installed plant machinery.

• Coordinate with various maintenance agencies (electrical/ mechanical/ instrumentation).
• Responsible for scheduling the maintenance/ instrumentation work with the production/ user department.
• Recordkeeping of various maintenance routines as per the QMS standard.
• Operate all utilities efficiently (ETP, STP, DM Plant, Boiler, Compressors, RO Plant, Cooling Tower etc.).
• Coordinate with manufacturing team for boiler operation, hot water requirements etc.
• Responsible for timely calibration, checking of instruments, earthing and other machineries.
• Responsible for monitoring and recording various utility consumptions and its cost regularly.
• Ensure safety of self and that of the co-workers.
• Always use and ensure usage of PPEs and maintain safe working environment.
• Report any unsafe act or condition to the maintenance in-charge.
• Ensure housekeeping and make sure that the work area is well maintained.
• Immediately raise any issue that may lead to production loss to the maintenance in-charge.
• Implement and sustain 5S initiatives on the shopfloor and support the team leader to set culture of compliances with regular checks and audits.
• Provide ideas for improvement/ innovation.
