Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in Snowflake data warehouse testing and data validation.
• Hands-on experience with Matillion ETL or similar cloud ETL tools.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas, SCDs, facts/dimensions).
• Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing of data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts for Snowflake-based solutions.
• Perform ETL testing on Matillion pipelines to ensure data accuracy across sources and targets.

ETL QA Tester JD

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Data Warehouse Testing Engineer with expertise in Snowflake, Matillion ETL, and data validation processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases and automation scripts to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance in our cloud-based data warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Warehouse Testing:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Snowflake-based data warehouse solutions.
• Perform ETL testing on Matillion pipelines to ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded.
• Validate data quality, completeness, and consistency across multiple data sources and targets.
• Conduct end-to-end testing for data ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers.
• Ability to work independently
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must have the ability and desire to quickly learn new skills and technologies

Automation and Performance:

• Develop SQL queries to perform data validation, reconciliation, and exception reporting.
• Implement test automation for ETL workflows where possible.
• Monitor and test performance of Snowflake queries and ETL jobs to ensure SLAs are met.

Collaboration & Status Reporting:

• Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements.
• Document defects clearly and work with engineering teams to drive resolution.
• Provide timely test status reports, metrics, and sign-offs.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse (SQL, performance tuning, data modeling concepts).
• Hands-on Matillion ETL experience (or similar cloud ETL tools).
• Strong SQL skills for complex data validation and transformation logic testing.
• Experience in DWH concepts (star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, fact/dimension tables).
• Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing of data pipelines.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Good understanding of cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP as applicable).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in automation frameworks for ETL testing.
• Experience and exposure to Slowly Changing Dimension type 1 and type2 and Fact tables.
• Data reconciliation and Comparison between on prem and Cloud systems.
• Exposure to any BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for report validation.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have:

• Snowflake / Matillion certifications.
• Experience in Python or Shell scripting for test automation.
