Job summary

Durus Consulting is seeking a data testing specialist to lead SIT activities focused on ETL and SQL. The role involves validating data via queries, ensuring accuracy across data sources, and contributing to BI reporting needs.

Strong collaboration with the development team and business analysts is essential. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in data testing within IT/consulting, with hands-on ETL/SQL and a solid grasp of data warehousing concepts, Big Data, and cloud basics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data testing role within IT/consulting, focusing on ETL and SQL.
• Transform complex business logic into SQL/PL/SQL queries for SIT tests.
• Validate data by running database queries and comparing results.
• Experience integrating data from multiple sources.
• Strong understanding of Big Data and cloud concepts.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience with automation testing on data.
• Knowledge of Python for analysis and troubleshooting erroneous results.
• Defect logging and working with development teams on resolutions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; collaboration with BA/Dev/testers.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review data models, mappings, and architectural docs to plan SIT.
• Create and execute SIT tests to validate data.
• Transform business logic into SQL/PL/SQL queries for validation.
• Collaborate with software teams to resolve defects and improve data quality.
• Support BI reporting efforts using Power BI/Tableau where applicable.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

Proven experience (3+ years, depending on level) in a Data testing testing role, within the IT and consulting industry with a focus on ETL and SQL. Hands-on experience with ETL using SQL, DWH

Skills and Expertise

• Review Data Models, Data Mappings, and Architectural Documentation to create/execute effective SIT
• Test suit Ability to transform complex Business logic into SQL or PL/SQL queries
• Validates data by running queries in the database and verifying that the results match the expectation
• Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
• Good understanding of Big Data & Cloud concepts
• Knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, and facts
• Hands on experience in automation testing on data
• Knowledge of programming languages E.g. Python Analysis and troubleshooting erroneous results,
• determining the root cause of defects, and logging defects in defect
• management tools, including working with the development team on the resolution of Software related defects
• Works closely with the Software development team (Business Analysts, Developers & other testers) to ensure timely and effective testing efforts
• Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
• Experience with BI tools like Power BI and Tableau is a plus

Education

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as BE/B TECH,MBA, or any related discipline.
